03 Embedded & IoT
Freelance embedded & IoT engineer
I build connected devices end to end: ESP32 firmware in C/C++ on FreeRTOS, device networking over BLE and Wi-Fi, provisioning and onboarding flows, and the backend and app the devices talk to. One engineer for the whole chain means no gaps between hardware, firmware and cloud.
Updated
Typical problems I get called in for
- 01
Hardware and software do not communicate reliably
Dropped connections, unclear protocols, devices that hang. I design robust device communication and the backend connectivity behind it.
- 02
Device setup frustrates users
Onboarding a device takes too many steps or fails silently. Clean provisioning via QR code and Bluetooth LE fixes the first impression.
- 03
It works on the bench, not in the field
Prototypes behave differently in real networks and real homes. I harden firmware and networking for real-world conditions.
- 04
Devices need a backend and an app
The firmware exists, but the cloud side and companion app are missing. I connect devices to APIs, services and mobile apps.

Frequently asked questions
Which microcontrollers do you work with?
My main focus is the ESP32 family with ESP-IDF, PlatformIO and FreeRTOS. I come from the Arduino ecosystem, so other microcontrollers programmed in C/C++ can be evaluated per project.
Can you build the app and the backend for our devices too?
Yes. That is the main advantage of working with me: firmware, mobile app (Flutter or .NET MAUI) and .NET backend come from one engineer, so the interfaces between them fit from the start.
Do you help take a prototype to production?
Yes. I review the existing prototype, harden firmware and networking for real-world use, and set up provisioning, updates and backend connectivity needed for a product in the field.
